The visa application procedure is structured in the following stages:
- Identification of the correct visa category.
In order to identify the visa category to be applied for, it is necessary to send an email to the Consular Section of the Embassy: secon_eazer@mrecic.gov.ar
In such email, please attach a copy of the sheet of your passport containing your personal data, and detail the following information:
- Nationality;
- Estimated time of stay in Argentina;
- Purpose of trip (tourism, work, business, residence, etc) along with all relevant information;
- Place of residence (city in which you currently live);
- Date of trip.
By responding to the email, the Consular Section will provide you with the Visa Application Form and a list of the preliminary requirements/documents for the visa application, as well as you will be also notified of the deadlines to be met for the visa application.
Bear in mind that the minimum period to apply for a visa is 45 days before the date of travel.
- Request an appointment to submit all the preliminary documents.
Only once ALL preliminary documents have been gathered, please request by email an appointment to submit in person the Visa Application Form and all the preliminary documents necessary for the visa application. Please send such email to secon_eazer@mrecic.gov.ar
Preliminary documentation will ONLY be accepted if all the documents are complete. The visa applicant will also have to show a valid passport, with validity of at least 6 months at the time of the trip and empty sheets for stamping the visa.
Bear in mind that the submission of the preliminary documentation does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. Additionally, after assessing the preliminary documentation and/or the consular interview, the consular authority may require additional documentation. It shall be the responsibility of the visa applicant to provide the additional documentation that might be requested.
- Presentation of the documentation.
The day of the appointment, you must:
- Submit all preliminary requested documentation, along with the Visa Application Form (which is legally an "affidavit");
- Pay the fee for processing the visa application.
Please note that if preliminary documentation is not complete, it will not be accepted and you will need to request a new appointment to submit the papers.
Please note that submitting materially or ideologically false or incomplete information, either in the Visa Application Form, the documents required by the consular officer or during the consular interview, will be sufficient grounds for the denial of the visa and its subsequent communication to the National Migration Authority, as well as it will be also subject to the penalties set forth in the legislation of Argentina.
The fee for processing the visa application must be paid at the branch of the Bank ABB. To this end, once confirmed that the application contains all the preliminary documents, the visa applicant will be provided with a deposit slip to make the payment in the bank branch. It shall be the responsibility of the visa applicant to bring back to the Consular Section, the deposit slip stamped by the bank.
The visa application procedure will be formally initiated only once all the preliminary documentation and the proof of payment have been duly submitted to the Consular Section.
The consular authority will analyze all the submitted preliminary documentation and will be entitled to require additional documentation.
After evaluating the preliminary documentation and any additional document that might be required, you will be assigned a date for your consular interview. The date for the consular interview will be notified to the visa applicant's e-mail. Please, confirm your attendance in writing, by responding to the e-mail.
- Consular interview.
The interview will be conducted by a consular officer.
The interview must be held at least one month before the date of travel that was informed when applying for the visa.
After the consular interview, a decision approving or denying the visa application shall be taken. This decision can take up to a month after the consular interview. It is also possible that the applicant be summoned to appear in a complementary consular interview and/or submit additional documentation, before taking a decision on the visa application.
- Notification of the consular decision.
Once a decision regarding the visa application was made, the visa applicant will be summoned to the Consular Section to be notified of such decision and stamp the corresponding visa, if applicable.
