Visa Application Procedure

The visa application procedure is structured in the following stages:

  1. Identification of the correct visa category.

In order to identify the visa category to be applied for, it is necessary to send an email to the Consular Section of the Embassy: secon_eazer@mrecic.gov.ar

Bear in mind that the minimum time limit for formally applying for a visa is 60 days before the start date of the trip (departure from Azerbaijan), so the email consultation should be made before that date.

In such email, please attach a copy of the sheet of your passport containing your personal data, and detail the following information:

  1. Nationality;
  2. Estimated time of stay in Argentina;
  3. Purpose of trip (tourism, work, business, residence, etc) along with all relevant information;
  4. Place of residence (city in which you currently live);
  5. Date of trip;
  6. Cell phone and contact email.

Also must be informed if you have another nationality and valid travel document(s) (passport), if applicable.

By responding to the email, the Consular Section will provide you with the Visa Application Form and a list of the preliminary requirements/documents for the visa application, as well as you will be also notified of the deadlines to be met for the visa application.

  1. Request an appointment to submit all the preliminary documents.

Only once ALL preliminary documents have been gathered, please request by email an appointment to submit in person the Visa Application Form and all the preliminary documents necessary for the visa application. Please send a new email to secon_eazer@mrecic.gov.ar requesting a personal appointment.

  1. Presentation of the documentation.

The day of the appointment, you must:

  • Appear at the Consular Section of the Argentine Embassy in Azerbaijan;
  • Submit all preliminary requested documentation, along with the Visa Application Form (which is legally an "affidavit");
  • Pay the fee for processing the visa application.

Please note that if preliminary documentation is not complete, it will not be accepted and you will need to request a new appointment to submit the papers. The visa applicant will also have to show a valid passport, with validity of at least 6 months at the time of the trip and empty sheets for stamping the visa.

The Visa Application Form must be completed CORRECTLY in ALL ITS POINTS: it has the legal character of an "AFFIDAVIT". Therefore, IT MAY NOT LACK ALL THE REQUIRED INFORMATION NOR CONTAIN ERRONEOUS OR INACCURATE INFORMATION. Please pay attention when you complete it in writing.

If, once the form has been submitted, the travel start dates, entry or exit to the country, air tickets, hotel reservations or any other similar data of the trip through the Argentine Republic are modified, the VISA APPLICANT MUST IMMEDIATELY INFORM THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THIS CIRCUMSTANCE and accompany the corresponding documentation, since the lack of these data or documents will cause the processing deadlines of the visa to be extended or will even cause the denial of the visa.

Please note that submitting materially or ideologically false or incomplete information / documents, either in the Visa Application Form, the documents required by the consular officer or during the consular interview, will be sufficient grounds for the denial of the visa and its subsequent communication to the National Migration Authority, as well as it will be also subject to the penalties set forth in the legislation of Argentina.

The fee for processing the visa application must be paid at the branch of the Bank ABB. To this end, once confirmed that the application contains all the preliminary documents, the visa applicant will be provided with a deposit slip to make the payment in the bank branch. It shall be the responsibility of the visa applicant to bring back to the Consular Section, the deposit slip stamped by the bank.

The visa application procedure will be formally initiated only once all the preliminary documentation, Visa Application Form and the proof of payment have been duly submitted to the Consular Section and the 60-day visa processing period will run since then.

The consular authority will analyze all the submitted preliminary documentation and will be entitled to require additional documentation or amendments to material errors on the submitted documentation and/or the Visa Application Form.

If there are no observations or saved them, you will be assigned a date and time for your consular interview that will be at least 45 days before the start of the trip (departure from Azerbaijan). The date and time of the interview will be notified in writing to your email. Please confirm your attendance by replying to such mail in writing

  1. Consular interview.

The interview will be conducted by a consular officer.

The interview must be held at least one month before the date of travel that was informed when applying for the visa.

After the consular interview, a decision approving or denying the visa application shall be taken. This decision can take up to 45 days after the consular interview. It is also possible that the applicant be summoned to appear in a complementary consular interview and/or submit additional documentation, before taking a decision on the visa application.

  1. Notification of the consular decision.

Once a decision regarding the visa application was made, the visa applicant will be summoned to the Consular Section to be notified of such decision and stamp the corresponding visa, if applicable.
